One Fine First

The morning was rushed and busy. This mother was frazzled, shaky and tired. Our collective timing was just off. The big idea — that our QB was heading off to school/summer camp for the first time ever — was circling in our hearts, but hadn’t fully touched down and nestled into our heads.

But all of it: the skipped breakfast (for Mama), the forgotten sunscreen (for Youngster) and the temporarily misplaced wallet (for Dad) came down to one beautiful moment in the sun.

Our kid was right there, strolling confidently towards his first school experience. Oh, he was cute. Indeed. But more important, he was happy. And that right there turned the entire day into something truly special, memorable and utterly marvelous.
